Wilmington’s River Bluffs……Fisherman’s Lifestyle

If you’re on a quest looking for the perfect location to establish residence, consider River Bluffs in Wilmington, NC.  I had the opportunity to visit with Burrows Smith, Owner and Developer of this beautiful community.  He invited me to come by and share about how he came to this vision of something new to offer those looking for a quaint peaceful home place.  As I drove past the guard at the gate, I was so taken with the lushness of the landscape.  This beautiful development is tucked back away from the business of heavy traffic and commercialism.  Burrows explained how the focus is on low impact to the environment, to preserve as much as possible, and he showed me the long scenic river walk close by for enjoyment that keeps you in touch with nature.

Being at The Bluffs gives you the feeling you are vacationing far from home, but you are actually about 10 minutes from downtown Wilmington and right off I-140 if you are heading inland.  Either way, you are close to where you would like to go.  But honesty, you probably won’t need to leave at all.  This community is complete with anything you could possibly want.  There is a pool, tennis courts, post office, book exchange and various clubs of specials interests.  You have a cafe’ serving up great food and a Community Center that hosts many functions to get together with you friends for all those fun times of laughter and (sometimes) dancing.  There is an outdoor fireplace that invites you to sit and chat while you’re bundled up with a beverage of your choice. Everything is within walking distance of your home.

But, besides all the cozy amenities, The Bluffs is also a fishing community.  It offers a pier and 1025 feet of floating dock with a marina coming that will have about 150 slips.  The fishing there brings both fresh and salt water, where Stripers, Drum and Trout are being caught.  The waters are not busy with fisherman because of this little known secret so you will have your own “honey hole” right in your own community.

I suggest you reach out to Burrows.  The homes are very reasonably priced and have much to offer you for your investment. Burrows will provide you with information on features that are in the planning/implementing stage, which is being added day by day.  Your surroundings alone are worth the visit.  While you’re there, visit the cafe’ and sit with a great cup of coffee, and imagine yourself being among the locals.  It’s a down home place to be.
