Williamsburg-area anglers battle giant bluefin tuna off of Outer Banks

A group of anglers from the Williamsburg-area had a big catch on a little boat last week.

Josiah Vanfleet of Toano, Virginia, his son Ezekiel, and a few friends, were 45 miles off the Outer Banks aboard their 22-foot Grady-White outboard when they hooked up with a giant bluefin tuna.

After battling the fish, and a broken reel, for two and half hours, then another two hours getting it in their boat, they made it safely back to the ramp at Oregon Inlet.

The fish measured 114.5-inches-long, and likely weighed at least 1,000 pounds!
