Blue Water Candy Lures Breaks Ground On New Facility
The owners and staff members of Blue Water Candy Lures are proud to announce the groundbreaking of their new manufacturing facility. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on June 11, 2021, in Holly Ridge, North Carolina, which is the location of the new facility. This expansion serves as yet another milestone in the continued success of the Blue Water Candy Lures company.
Just 20 years ago, then commercial fisherman, Jodie Gay, and wife Terry began making fishing lures at their dining room table in Hampstead, NC. With the support of area tackle shops, the Blue Water Candy name quickly grew. Today, the company now provides fishing lures to anglers not only across America but all over the world. Over those years, the Blue Water Candy Lures product line has grown to approximately 5000 fishing products that range from lures to apparel and much more.
Since 2001, the company and the family have evolved in numerous ways. The talented staff of lure makers continues to grow as does the Gay family. In 2007, Russell Weaver joined Blue Water Candy as a rigger. In 2009 he and Jodie, along with Captain Rick Croson, won the Southern Kingfish Association National Championship.
Today, Blue Water Candy Lures continues to design and provide popular fishing lures for anglers all over the world, thanks to their vision and the input of their long list of commercial fishermen and guide community. The same passion that started the company can still be seen and felt today with the Gay/Weaver family’s presence at tackle shows and other events. It’s this “hands-on” approach that makes Blue Water Candy products popular with tackle dealers, but also with the fishing community. The coming new facility represents their hard work and dedication to their company, its customers, and the worldwide fishing community.
